Book My Seat provides an online ticketing portal enabling travelers to check timetables, pick specific seats, process digital payments, and receive verifiable travel confirmations for intercity travel throughout Sri Lanka.

By reserving a seat through our platform, you enter into a binding contract of carriage directly with the designated bus operator named on your digital ticket. Our obligations are strictly limited to accurate seat inventory reservation, payment facilitation, and prompt issuance of your digital boarding pass.

Once payment authorization is completed successfully, a booking confirmation containing your unique Reference Number, seat allocations, and verified QR code pass is delivered via SMS to your registered Sri Lankan mobile number.

• Passengers must arrive at their designated boarding point at least 20 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.
• You must present the valid digital SMS ticket or QR code boarding pass along with your National Identity Card or Passport when boarding.
• Buses operate on strict timetable permits issued by transport authorities. Drivers and conductors cannot delay departures for late arriving passengers. Unclaimed seats after departure will be treated as passenger no shows.

While the platform guarantees the total number of reserved seats, bus operators reserve the right to rearrange specific seat numbers in exceptional situations. Such circumstances include accommodating passengers with physical disabilities, urgent vehicle substitutions, or regulatory safety compliance.

Passengers must sit in their designated seats and respect cultural seating practices traditionally followed on public and private buses across Sri Lanka.

Each passenger ticket entitles the traveler to carry one standard checked suitcase or travel bag up to 20 kilograms, plus one compact personal hand bag suitable for overhead storage or under seat placement.

• Excess baggage or commercial merchandise is strictly subject to available cargo room and may incur extra luggage fees charged directly by the bus crew.
• Strictly prohibited articles include explosive chemicals, combustible gases, flammable liquids, firearms, toxic substances, open alcohol containers, and illegal drugs.
• Neither the bus operator nor Book My Seat accepts liability for loss, pilferage, or accidental damage to fragile belongings, electronic equipment, jewelry, or cash stored inside checked luggage.

Bus staff maintain complete authority to preserve passenger safety and peace on board. Boarding will be denied, or passengers will be disembarked at the nearest police station or safe junction, without any entitlement to fare refund, in instances involving:

• Intoxication from alcohol or illicit substances.
• Verbal abuse, intimidation, harassment, or physical altercation directed toward passengers or the bus crew.
• Smoking, consuming alcohol, or playing loud music without personal earphones inside the cabin.

Published travel durations and estimated arrival times are indicative. Sri Lankan road conditions, monsoon weather, traffic congestion, checkpoints, and road maintenance can impact actual transit schedules.

In case of a mechanical breakdown during a journey, the primary duty rests with the operating carrier to mobilize a replacement vehicle promptly. If the operator fails to arrange suitable alternate carriage, Book My Seat will initiate an appropriate refund calculation in accordance with our Cancellation and Refund Policy.

Under no circumstances shall Book My Seat, its founders, or technology partners be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including missed flights, hotel bookings, or business meetings resulting from bus delays or operator cancellations.

Our aggregate financial liability for any proven claim arising out of a booking shall never exceed the total fare value paid by the customer for that specific reservation.

These terms and conditions are formulated under and governed exclusively by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any unresolved dispute arising out of or related to our platform services will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Sri Lanka.
